On Stage

Who's on-stage at the Taste the Flavours Food Festival on 2nd June?

Ock Street Band was formed in 2014 and are Ben Nielsen – vocals, guitar and bass guitar, and Kay Davies – vocals, ukulele, mandolin, and treble recorder.

Originally, they were a predominantly covers band playing anything they liked in an acoustic, slightly country, slightly folky style. However, for the last few years they have been writing and performing their own songs and recorded their first ever EP, ‘From Scratch’ in 2019.

They play what they love how they love and enjoy nothing more than sharing the joy that playing together brings them.

Voices of Oxfordshire is a friendly new singing group for all vocal abilities, bringing the Abingdon and Didcot community together. We sing a wide range of songs from timeless classics to 80s Rock Medleys and we’re always looking for new members to come join us.

“a giddy mess of skronking sax, skittering beats, squawking synths and chopped-out guitar that party round Rachel’s pure, smoky jazz-folk voice”. “Never mind the apocalypse, the Pandapopalypse is here and everything is going to be absolutely bloody great.” Nightshift Magazine, March 2019

“if there wasn’t a law against dancing in my house, I’d be up off the sofa in a flash” Oxfordshire

Music Scene, Spring 2019

“what they most resemble is a gaggle of wild-eyed children’s TV show presenters who have been on the mescaline and Slimline tonic all afternoon and who are singing insanely catchy paeans to positivity” Ocelot magazine, October 2019
